wrong dye number

I purchased 3 400gram balls from Hobbycraft, to knit up a poncho. I am very happy with the wool it knitted up lovely and was extremely happy with the item once finished. It was only then when I took it out in daylight I discovered that the two balls I used must have been from different dye lots. I am very carefully about always checking the dye numbers and the assistant checked them at the till as well, because we joked about it. I have today gone back to hobby craft who will not do anything and I am very unhappy with them.
